Creative Transition...
In exactly four weeks, Vanessa and I will return to Switzerland, and it feels strange. The anticipation of a new chapter in life is mixed with daily melancholy – could this be the last coffee in this little café? Is this the last time we will enjoy this wonderful stretch of beach? At least that's how I feel. I comfort myself with the thought that Los Angeles will remain an important part of our future. My return to my second home in spring 2025 is already in the works. Knowing about our return allows me to say goodbye – but with more calmness and less sadness. This perspective also fosters a greater excitement for our new chapter: Studio Nuance Noir. It's difficult for me to precisely describe what Studio Nuance Noir is or will be. The simplest interpretation might be that we have opened the doors to our own world – a world based on our dreams, experiences, knowledge, and yearnings. Sharing this world with others was a conscious decision; we are aware that we are revealing a lot of personal things. For it is not a final, perfect world, nor will it ever be. Our studio will be characterized by constant change and continuous growth. The process itself is at the heart of everything we do, and we want anyone who is interested to be able to be part of it. This philosophy undoubtedly makes us vulnerable, but it is also honest, and it is the ethos I pursue as an artist. This blog will be like that too: I will share my thoughts, provide insights into my creative process, and see where this path leads me. - Yanik
